An apartment with 360 degree views of Manhattan.

In a new building that was constructed to terminate Madison Avenue in a three-dimensional exclamation mark, we reworked an apartment to reflect the client’s tastes and sensibilities. With bright light and full sun, the high-rise’s interior needed to be a place for shadows as well. Standing in a hallway, you are bombarded with the “placeness” of the New York City skyline, seeing the World Trade Center on your left and the Empire State building on your right—a living postcard out your windows. But you still may forget for a second where you are—lingering instead on the coolness of the grey stone clad walls and muted bronze panels.
